What is Ingrown Hair?

Ingrown hair is a condition where the hair grows into the skin. It can cause an infection of the hair follicle or razor bumps. They most commonly appear in areas of the skin that have been shaved such as the legs or pubic area.

How does laser Ingrown hair removal work?

We apply laser light on the treating area. The light is

absorbed by the pigment in the hair and produces heat. This

heat damages the hair follicle in such a way  as to inhibit

regrowth. If you constantly suffer from ingrown hair, you

will see a significant improvement.

What is the difference between laser ingrown hair removal and homecare treatments?
Instead of targeting the skin like homecare treatments, laser targets the hair follicle. It is a more effective and long-term method.

How many sessions do you need?
Only hair that is actively growing is affected by the laser. Therefore multiple treatments are needed. Typically, 6 or more treatments are needed at 4-6 weeks intervals for optimum results.

How long does each treatment take?
It can take as little as 10 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the treatment area.

Are there side effects?
The skin may be slightly red immediately after treatment, and the hair follicles may be bumpy, but this usually subsides within a few hours. Unwanted reactions are rare but may include a small blister or temporary lightening or darkening of the skin. This is why Setsuko Beauty Clinic starts with a Consultation & Patch test at first to make sure that the treatment is carried out safely.
